The Administration of the President of Georgia explains the procedure for granting and terminating Georgian citizenship to a person.
As noted in the statement released by the Administration, according to the law, when it comes to the termination of citizenship, the President has three months to issue a decree.
"Wrong information is spread to mislead the public. We explain: In one case, when a person requests granting, maintaining or withdrawing citizenship, within 7 days after the submission of the negative conclusion of the Ministry of Justice to the President, it is considered that the citizen is refused, and the President does not issue the act. As for the termination of citizenship, according to the law, the President has three months to issue a decree," the statement reads.
