Levan Davitashvili: The construction partner of Anaklia port will be announced tomorrow

According to the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, his department is actively working with international consulting companies to implement the Anaklia project.

As Davitashvili told the journalists, under competitive conditions, the construction company was selected to be as experienced as possible in terms of marine construction.

According to his explanation, this process will end tomorrow and the construction partner will be identified.

"The process is quite complex, both in terms of selecting a private partner and construction works. Therefore, we are very responsible and attentive to the process. In this case, we sent clarifying questions to the bidder with the involvement of a consultant. We received detailed responses this week, which are again being processed by our European consultant. When we get the consultant's assessment this week, probably tomorrow, early next week at the latest, so the fit will be clarified. If there are clarifying questions, we will probably have to continue the dialogue with the bidder. As for construction work, we had negotiations with the "big four", it was a competitive environment. Under competitive conditions, the construction company was selected to be as experienced as possible in terms of marine construction. We have to finish this process tomorrow. Here too, engineering consultants were engaged to evaluate the proposals submitted by the companies. We will complete this process tomorrow. Tomorrow, the construction partner will be identified and we will provide the public with information about this," Davitashvili said.
