On Monday, the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced that the government is commencing the official action plan for the construction of Anaklia Port.
The project will be a joint venture with 51% ownership belonging to the state, and the remaining 49% will be tendered internationally.
The Prime Minister further stated that the government will not wait for investors to express their interest and will start construction works this year.
In addition to this project, the government is actively constructing roads and highways, extending airports, and developing other concepts to promote positive growth and development in the region.
